SUMMARY
Supervises workers engaged in layout and machine operating to fabricate structural or sheet metal products by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Directs and coordinates department activities to further attainment of MGS goals, mission and vision as follows:
Serves as liaison to scheduling for the Press & Shear department
Serves as a member of the Operations Management Team and participates in the following activities:
Serves as a member of the HR team and participates in the following activities:
Fulfills Manufacturing Engineering function for the Press & Shear department:
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises employees in the Press and Shear Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and direct ling work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION & / OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general educational degree (GED); and 5-10 years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Three to five years supervisory experience is preferred. Basic computer skills including word processing, electronic spreadsheets and proficient in CNC software. Courses in team building and project management experience preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to direct and work effectively with diverse personalities. Participative management style and advocates of team concept.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
