FULL DESCRIPTION: 

Founded in 1969 in Fort Collins, CO, Maxey is a trusted manufacturer and distributor of trailers and related equipment for hauling everything from horses to race cars. We offer trailers from leading manufacturers including Big Tex, Aluma, Charmac, Circle J, Eby, Featherlite and Wells Cargo.

After working together for many years, MGS acquired Maxey Companies in 2014. Today the regional retail store is known as Maxey Trailer Sales and Truck fitting, a part of the MGS Trailer Products Division. We also manufacture turnkey trailers for any application and can order hard-to-find parts and accessories for your truck or trailer.


SUMMARY

Sells parts over the counter and phone to customers by performing the following duties.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.


  • Understands and follows the MGS Vision, Mission Statement and Goals.
  • Provides part sales and service to customers who contact the company on the sales floor, by phone, computer or fax. Able to multi-task and answer frequent incoming phone calls.
  • Ascertains make, year, and type of part or service needed; inspects worn, damaged, or defective part to determine replacement required, or advises customer of part or service needed according to description of malfunction.
  • Provides technical support to customers; discusses use and features of various parts. Advises customer on substitution or modification of part when replacement is not available.
  • Fills customer orders from stock, prepares invoices, coordinates shipping, and receives payment.
  • Assist with maintaining parts inventory to include: receive, tag and store parts in stockroom according to company system, takes physical inventory of stock and maintains perpetual inventory.
  • Provides professional customer service at all times, by communicating with customers and taking appropriate action. This may include, utilizing manuals and other software to evaluate items on hand, suggesting alternatives to customers or placing an order for the appropriate item.
  • Follows all safety guidelines and uses all required personal protective equipment.
  • Assists with all routine maintenance and housekeeping in parts area including dusting, wiping surfaces, and other cleaning items.
  • Maintains consistent attendance in accordance with departmental needs.


QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION & / OR EXPERIENCE

2-3 years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Basic computer skills relating to accounting software, MS Office Suite.


LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumferences, and volume. Must be able to complete basic mathematical functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and addition.


REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Willingness to learn variety of parts, software programs, and necessary tools in order to diagnose various customer's needs.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid driver's license.
