FULL DESCRIPTION: 

SUMMARY

Performs routine cleaning and maintenance of paint booths and other areas of the paint department to provide a safe working environment, maintain equipment efficiency and attain a high-quality finished product.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follows necessary MGS procedures and work instructions.
  • Sweep paint department aisles and ovens.
  • Empty all paint department trash cans
  • Organize paints and ensure all containers have lids and are labeled properly.
  • Empty and replenish chemicals in paint gun cleaners.
  • Check and mark all containers clearly.
  • Crush and properly dispose of paint cans.
  • Paint booth maintenance to include: cleaning booth walls, changing filters change floor paper, clean lift feet, and scrape side window covers.
  • Service paint booth lift.
  • Process solvent through still and perform still area housekeeping
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and six months to one year related experience.


LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to work in  a team environment.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to interpret bar graphs.


REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
