FULL DESCRIPTION: 

Plans and conducts activities concerned with the control and execution of manufacturing projects to include supervision of personnel, scheduling production and quality assurance activities.


Supervisor Responsibilities:

This position will supervise the activities of PPU welding, coatings, and assembly manufacturing personnel.  Sixteen to Twenty Employees.  Duties including but not limited to:

  • Daily - Review of scheduled operations
  • Review Daily Plan with shop employees
  • Daily - Labor Reporting
  • Daily - Meeting with Project Managers to communicate progress and issues
  • Daily - Review all printed packets ("PS")
  • Daily - Track parts through processes
  • Daily - Track Jobs / Events
  • Daily  - Help manufacturing employees with their questions
  • Participate in team meetings
  • Coordinate with outside services as needed
  • Ensure req1uirements of FOD program are adhered to
  • Employee Reviews, 30/60/90 and Annual
  • Interview Candidates
  • Administer training as require


Quality Assurance Responsibilities:

  • Familiarity with SWO requirements
  • Serves as one of the Quality Technicians for the PPU Project and participates in the following activities:
  • Understands ISO9001 procedures and documentation. Familiar with or able to become familiar with the AS9100 Quality System:
  • Assists customers with AS9102 First Article Inspection process
  • Assures each manufacturing, test, inspection and verification step are completed in proper sequence as prescribe by prepared MDPs
  • Take measurements and complete appropriate portion of inspection documents
  • Assures in the completion of reports to communicate involvement and results of quality assurance activities

Education:

  • Associates degree (AAs) and one to two years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Language Sills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals and legal documents in English. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers and / or regulatory agencies. Ability to write reports that conform to prescribed MGS or Customer style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management and manufacturing partners.


Mathematical Skills:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.


Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.


Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Design software; Internet software; Manufacturing software; Order processing systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

AWS D1.1 Structural Weld Qualification


Other Skills and Abilities

  • ISO9000 Internal Auditor training.
  • Ability to use small hand tools and measuring devices, such as, tape measures, calipers, fillet gages, depth gauges and micrometers.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering documents.
