Summary:  Provides technical manufacturing support to a specific production department (weld, paint fabrication, or assembly)


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Develop efficient work instructions, value steam, and mistake proofing and work flow improvements.
  • Development of tools for production departments as assigned. These may include supporting weld fixture development, developing tertiary processing equipment such as carts/shelving and assisting with other production enhancements as needed.
  • Support production through efficient and effective identification and resolution of line issues and non-conforming product.
  • Assist in the development and release of new products and product changes.
  • Create and improve procedures and methods for production area assigned.
  • Implement and facilitate LEAN manufacturing processes improving efficiency and increasing productivity, quality, safety delivery, and decreasing costs.
  • Assist with Project Management as needed.
  • Assist with ECN processing as needed.
  • Area Specializations (as needed)
  1. Quoting - assist with activities needed to create costs for sales quotations. Assist the Methods and Costing ME during peak processing demands.
  2. Robotic Welder - develop fixtures, work instructions, and programing for the robotic welding cell.

EDUCATION & / OR EXPERIENCE

Associate's degree (A,A) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; 203 years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.


REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variable in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


OTHER SKILLS

Practical fabrication, weld, pain and assembly skills. Knowledge of materials testing methodology and equipment.
