Summary:  Installs and repairs data communication lines and equipment for computer system by performing the following duties.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES  Assist the IS Manager with the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Maintain clustered server environment.
  • Maintain virtual server environment using Hyper - V.
  • Maintain client and server Windows operating environments.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance on company computing hardware and software.
  • Maintain the company network, preparing cable, connecting switches, etc.
  • Perform duties assigned through the Help Desk system.
  • Assist IS Manager with other tasks as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION & / OR EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university; or a minimum two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, retain and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Posses the ability to write detailed reports and correspondence.  Provide patient, professional Help Desk support for the widest range of user-related issues including training, application usability and problem solving.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.


REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Deal with problems involving any number of concrete or esoteric variables in standardized and creative situations.  Be able to describe rationale and methodology when determining results.


COMPUTER SKILLS

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • The ability to describe and relate the OSI model in real-world computing environments.
  • Experience in administering Microsoft-centric enterprise applications including Active Directory, Office, e-mail, printing, document management, remote desktop, enterprise resource planning, and 3D CAD application suites.
  • An understanding of programming standards and structures through writing computer code.
