SUMMARY
Responsible for performing all activities in support of EHS (Environmental, Health and Safety) initiatives, New Employee Safety Orientation and Safety and Environmental training; ensuring compliance with local, state, federal and International regulations and agencies, managing facility safety processes to protect employees, the company, the environment, and provide a safe and healthy work place.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Continually improve, evaluate, implement and maintain EHS (Environmental, Health and Safety) policies and procedures to protect employees and comply with company, state, federal, international and local regulations.
- Understand Pennsylvania and Colorado State requirements and tailor programs and reporting accordingly.
- Ensure the planning, scheduling, coordination and delivery of safety orientations.
- ensure the planning, scheduling, coordination and delivery of training programs in a manner that raises employee's awareness and enables employees and supervisors to work safely.
- Develop, schedule and administer new trainings as appropriate
- Ensure OSHA requirements for training recurrence are met.
- Ensure reports are created and remitted in a timely manner to Customers as well as Local, State, Federal or International Regulatory Bodies as necessary.

- Ensure relationships between local emergency response entities and MGS are well maintained.
- Develop and administer plant safety and environmental initiatives and lead continuous improvement efforts in those areas, utilizing effective communication skills (verbal and written). ensure inspections and audits are completed as necessary to comply with local, state and federal regulations.
- Accompany or arrange escort for outside inspection and audit entities such as DEP, OSHA, EPA, Municipalities.
- Enforce compliance of regulatory requirements (OSHA, DEP, EPA, etc.) including company EHS policies and procedures.
- Oversee hazardous waste storage areas, waste reduction monitoring and ensure regulatory agency compliance, labeling, containment, proper disposal and documentation.
- Require all new materials and supply orders to include Safety Data Sheets (SDS) to evaluate new raw materials and new processes for facility use considering safety and regulatory factors.
- Ensure SDS filing and retrieval process is in order.
- Conduct regular unannounced walk through of work areas and talk to the personnel t identify their concerns. Communicate safety and health issues to the workers in a manner to help them understand why they are important and addressing them is for their benefit.

- Recognize and reward input from employee that improve safety and health in the workplace.
- Develop Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
- Develop Equipment Hazard Analysis
- Perform technical writing in the creation of Safety and Environmental documentation, Procedures, Work Instructions and Programs
- Stay informed and act as appropriate on Safety and environmental regulation changes that affect the organization.
- Ensure records are maintained, protected and legible per MGS record retention protocols.
QUALIFICATIONS
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION & LICENSURE
BS degree in EH and S discipline or equivalent is preferred. Three years or more experience in an Environmental, Health and Safety position in a manufacturing environment required. CPR/FA/AED Certified is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
General knowledge of the principles and practices of the organizations and operations of administrative programs; ability to develop long-term plans and programs and to evaluate accomplishments; ability to apply and adapt practices and techniques to the special requirements of senior management; ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with other management staff, employees, and the general public; ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from regulatory agencies, customers, employees or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups and/or boards of directors.
