Summary: Aids departmental supervisor or production manager in directing and coordinating departmental workflow by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review and compares order sheets to work order prints to find discrepancies.  Chases print and works out issues with engineering.
  • Compiles work order packets when job is complete.
  • Sets employees work schedules after conferring with supervisor.
  • Aids in the training of new employees.
  • Inspects product as directed by supervisor and completes inspection sheets.
  • Works with team to produce product.
  • Is knowledgeable about the products produced and the best methods to product them.
  • After conferring with the area supervisor or production manager, directs the team to stage and product products with the greatest efficiency.  Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders for workers, and assigns duties.
  • Assists supervisor with the selection of new employees.
  • Supplies the supervisor with input for employee evaluation.
  • Ensures that workplace safety practices are monitored and followed.
  • Interprets, follows and ensures compliance for necessary departmental MGS procedures and work instructions.
  • Acts as liaison to interpret company policies for team members.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
  • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department or work crew.
  • Suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Assures that time records (job cards) are filled out correctly and are turned in on a timely basis.
  • Confers with other Team Leaders to coordinate activities of individuals within the department.


QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION & / OR EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months related experience and training.  basic mechanical and print reading ability.  Basic knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems.


LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to interpret bar graphs.


REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
