Summary:  Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or work site by performing the following duties.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Follows necessary MGS procedures and work instructions.
  • Reads paperwork or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials to be used in assembling product.
  • Competes and processes all shipping and receiving paperwork per MGS guidelines.
  • Insures inventory processes and procedures are followed and completed per MGS guidelines.
  • Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks and shelves by hand or with power hoist.
  • Loads and unloads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
  • Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials.
  • Loads and unloads trucks.
  • Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together.
  • Assembles skids or crates as necessary.
  • performs daily safety inspection of forklift and completes related equipment checklist.
  • Safely operates forklift, tractors and electric hoists to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
  • Follows safety guidelines and uses all required personal protective equipment.


QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION & / OR EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months related experience and training.  basic mechanical and print reading ability.  Basic computer skills.


LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.


REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
